4:00 and Winds Arising
It is now the beginning of crunch time and I will take just short brakes to give you an equally short updates (mostly without pics because we are focused on other matters now).
The traditional four o'clock afternoon winds are beginning to rise and, with the, our valley fills with smoke as, like a slumbering giant, this beast of a fire that resides upstream from now slowly awakes. It is hard to know what the next six hours will bring, but I know that we will not be sipping tea on the outside deck. Pray for rain, all, as a wind event (which we are scheduled to have--gusts up to 50 mph are predicted between the hours of 8 and midnight tonite) without rain could lead to a dicey blogspot by day's end!
More to follow as relevant--right now all hoses are in operation as we (re)wet down this yard (which seems to be getting bigger and bigger with each wetdown--does acreage grow with too much water?!?).
Best,
RCR
