Professional golfer Miller Barber, owner of 11 PGA wins and 24 Champion Tour Wins and part-time Rock Creek resident, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Fifth Annual Extravaganza Rock Creek Casting Competition to be held this July Fourth at Extravaganza World Headquarters, the Rockin' C Ranch on Rock Creek Road. Co-hosted by the Grizzly Hackle, this year's winner will not only have his or her name engraved on the perpetual trophy that resides at GH's Missoula store but will also receive a custom made rod and reel engraved for and to be used in the competition.
Mr. Barber has already prepared his speech in anticipation of the annual event: To be standing on the balcony overlooking the distance and accuracy course, Miller says that he expects to bless the 30+ contestants papal style and, thereafter, issue the time-honored Extravaganza proclamation of "Begin." As Extravaganza tradition further dictates, there will be but one winner, but wine, beer and roasted pig for all.
(As with last year's event, neither ESPN nor ESPN 2 is expected to be in attendance.)
