The Fraternal Order of Group Four wings and wheels its way to Extravaganzaland today to put the exclamation mark on what has been, so far, a perfect Extravaganza.
Advanced party member veteran Santa Barbara travel agent par excellence Brian "Captain Four" Robertson arrived first yesterday, and was quickly followed by co-veteran Bay Area branding expert Dave Studeman (who fishes with the fishes and Casting Contest Champion Drew today as a bonus to both him and his rookie wife Lynn) and Seattle, Washington rookies Doug and Lois Pendleton. Typical to form, five time returning veteran banker Larry "Horse****" Klaustermeier (who not only has trouble keeping track of horseshoe scores but also of the day he is supposed to arrive) called yesterday half way here from driving in from Bozeman only to realize that Group Four starts on Saturday, not Friday [whereupon he turned around and high tailed it back to that other part of the state (of confusion)]). Also rolling today in, at the end of their earlier CA-originated road trip, will be rookie Napa banker Scott McAdams and his co-rookie relations, Ron Beeler and Don Valdez.
Delta Airlines has the delivery responsibility for the balance of the Fab Four, bringing in later this morning: (a) Marin County veteran fishing partners banker Doug "Fish A" Caulfield and realtor Haden "Fish B" Ongaro; (b) Bay Area SWAT succession team member veteran Fred "The Guitar" Johnson and his rookie sidekick
Gene Ferguson; and (c) the third couple in this year's Group Four entourage, SF attys Jim Krieg and (his beautiful wife) Mary Reilley.
Fifteen in all, Group Four rounds out the field of 65 participants in Extravaganza 2007, each of who will be greeted by all-time record Missoula high temperatures (it was 106 degrees here yesterday, folks!), calling for GH fishing departure times of 6 a.m. (a far cry from Group One and Two's 8 a.m. departure times and Group Two's 7 a.m. liftoffs).
Now complete on all of its four sides, may the spirit of the Extravaganza live with you all!
