Happy 4th of July!

Happy Birthday America! To celebrate this great day in our history, we at Rock Creek are going to host a raging party, a World Famous Casting Contest, and roast a whole pig! I'll be updating this post throughout the day to let you know how things are going, so check back in often!

I slept in a bit, here's where things stood when I got up:

Ok, we loaded it in the smoker, but the legs were too long and the pig couldn't rotate! So we pulled it off, opened up the wire, and cut of the legs. Here are Tyler and I with the offending limbs:

8 p.m.: Things are heating up!

!!!!!!!BREAKING ROCK CREEK NEWS JUST OFF THE WIRE!!!!

Just after 9 pm local time, Drew Miller, guide for the Grizzly Hackle, has just won the World Famous Rock Creek Annual Casting Contest!!! With a shot to the 3' target at a distance of 75'!!! He won by the narrowest of margins, barely beating out Ben Hart, who laid down his fly within 1 foot of the target on two occasions. Congratulations to Ben, and congratulations to our champion Drew Miller! Drew wins a high end fishing rod, gets his name engraved on the fine trophy, and most importantly huge bragging rights for the next year and thereafter!
